To drive for USF Reddaway, you must possess and maintain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), including proper endorsements, with Haz Mat and D/T endorsements. The driver must maintain the hours of service requirements pursuant to FMCSR. The driver will be required to read, comprehend and comply with Policies, Procedures, Work Rules and required paperwork.

The driver will be required to successfully complete education and training provided in Forklift Operation, Hazard Communication, Hazardous Materials Handling Regulations, Emergency Response Procedures (in regards to hazardous material spills or incidents) and use of Personal Protective Equipment. The Driver must comply with any established Drug and Alcohol guidelines and all Company FMCSR or OSHA Rules.

Line Driver (Long Haul):

The Line Driver is responsible for the safe transport of freight throughout the given route. The driver starts the shift by picking up load manifests and bills of lading. The Driver must review any hazardous material paperwork, where applicable, for verification and proper placarding prior to departure. The Driver is required to perform a thorough pre-trip inspection in accordance with FMCSR and established Company Policy. The Line Driver will generally drive long distances during the shift. When required to load and/or unload freight, the driver should utilize safe lifting techniques, and where possible, utilize assistive devices, such as, hand trucks, pallet jacks, barrel dollies and forklifts. The Driver may on occasion be required to hook and unhook trailers. The Driver may be required to install and remove snow tire chains when road conditions require.
